Reintegration Grants

Reintegration grants are directed towards Young Egyptian Researchers who have obtained their PhD degree from one of the reputable universities or research centers and are willing to return to continue their Research career in Egypt. It is a three years fund that would allow the Researcher to be “re-integrated” in the Egyptian S&T community.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for this grant, it is required that a Principal Investigator (returning researcher) satisfies the following criteria:

a. Age is 35 years old or younger at the date of proposal submission.

b. Obtaining a PhD degree within the past five years before the date of the proposal submission.

c. Holding a PhD certificate from one of the top 250 ranked universities according to Shanghai Ranking for 2007 (http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/ranking.htm. a downloadable version of the ranking is available at the stdf website at the following link: click here to download).

This grant provides up to 1,500,000 Egyptian Pounds over three years and covers the following costs:

· Principal Investigator & proposed staff salary.

· Cost of Travel.

How to apply

In order to apply for the grants, you have to go through the following steps (accessible through the links on the left menu)

  1. Please download the Application Template (Available in PDF Format) and order to get acquainted with different sections of your submitted proposal. Please note that the template gives general guidelines on the different items and sections to be included in your application, and does not, by itself, represent a Proposal Form
  2. Please read carefully the Guide for Applicant (available in PDF format) in order to get acquainted about the details of the grants
  3. Please fill in the following information on the website:
    1. Academic Background: In this section, you must fill in some information about your Academic Background (Year of Graduation, University, Masters Degree, PhD Degree, etc.).
    2. Proposal Basic Data: In this section, you will fill basic information on your proposal (Title, Abstract, etc.).
    3. Uploading Documents: In this section, you will have to UPLOAD your filled application form (in PDF Format only).
    4. Application Status: This section shows the status of your application and report on any errors in it (files not uploaded, sections not filled, etc.)

Please note that your application is completely "Editable" and "Changeable" until you press the button called "Submit". Once submitted, you will be able to review your application only.
